Trace Rayfield interviewed Lars and James on April 23, 1983 for Brain Lew's fanzine Whiplash; it was probably their first interview after Kirk joined the band. Oh, and the interview was recorded in a moving car.

Metallica have assembled a very interesting combination of acts for this event on June 23 and 24 in Atlantic City N.J., with themselves as the cherry on top, performing one of their classic albums in full each night. Should prove to be quite an event! We are almost but not quite out of different ways to say "hey, here’s where you can get tickets!"

Almost 30 years have passed since Kirk Hammett joined what was to become one of the biggest, most influential metal bands of all time. As the lead guitarist for Metallica, Hammett developed a unique six-string proficiency that helped capture metal lovers' hearts and fist-pumps with 1984's Ride the Lightning and 1986's Master of Puppets, two albums many call some of the genre's all-time greatest.

I feel like I need to clear something up. You see, I've been kinda hard on Metallica here. I called them "average joe schmoes" in my article about how the Internet stole the mystery of musicians and I ripped Lulu apart in my review. It's probably safe to say that were one to look solely at my articles about Metallica, you'd think I hated, or at the least didn't think much of the band.

Lars will appear on VH1 Classic's That Metal Show on March 31st.

Metallica's performance is unusual, as the band plays a number of shows in Europe each year but has limited engagements in the United States. The Atlantic City festival, dubbed the Orion Music + More festival, marks the only announced North American performance by the group this year.
